John Amos,best known for his legendary role as KUNTA KINTE in the Emmy Award winning series, ROOTS, is critically acclaimed for his award winning roles in TV and Film.

 Amos currently stars on the hit ABC Series, MEN IN TREES as the popular character of BUZZ. On his breaks from TV/FILM, Amos returns to his passion of mentoring children throughout the USA and the world. A former New York Social Worker, Amos is founder of The Halley's Comet Foundation, a non profit for kids of all ages that uses sailing as a means to teach kids team work,self-worth, and building a vision for success.

 The Halley’s Comet Foundation is committed to making a positive and long-lasting impact on today’s youth by exposing them to learning the challenges and culture of the seas. The results of this experience allows each child to realize their full potential, as well as embraces their confidence and desires to succeed as students, citizens, and positive role models for other youth.
